Main Street — Oklahoma City Historic Postcards

From My Oklahoma City Postcard Collection…

Wow, this photo takes me way back before my time! It captures Main Street Oklahoma City looking east and looks like it was taken in the early 1930s.

On the left, there’s the iconic Street’s Department Store which I’ve heard was a staple in Oklahoma City until the 1980s or 1990s.

Across the street, there’s Kerr’s Department Store, which I can’t help but smile at thinking about going there as a small child.

And check out those towering buildings in the background! That’s the Ramsey Tower, which is now City Place, and the First National Bank Building.

It’s amazing how much has changed over the years, but taking a trip down memory lane is always enjoyable.
