If you’ve driven Route 66 east of I-35 toward Pops, you’ve undoubtedly seen the buffalo statue. This is the entry into Sugar Hill. Sugar hill is a gated acreage community of million dollar plus homes.
Sugar Hill was created from rolling prairie, natural rock formations, creeks and large trees. A portion of Sugar Hill is covered by the original Cross Timbers Forest with many large post oak trees.
There are 33 homesites within Sugar Hill in addition to twenty acres of common areas containing spring-fed ponds, nature trails, creeks and natural waterfalls. Homes range in size from a minimum of 4,000 square feet to a maximum of 10,000 square feet. Lots range from 2 to 2.2 acres and are priced from $250,000.
A beautifully landscaped gated entry leads into Sugar Hill.
I found this video recently filmed from at T-33 flying the Grand Canyon. This is old video – 1959. I’m not that old, but I am old enough to have flown the Grand Canyon in and F-4 Phantom. Unfortunately, I didn’t have film, but this should give you an idea of what it was like back in the good-old-days before the back-packing, donkey-riding nit picks started bitching! Enjoy!!!
