Fall nights and football

Fall Nights and Football

When the evenings get dark a little earlier and the air gets cooler, you know it’s fall. That’s when the ref’s whistle blows, and the football games begin. It’s fall nights, and football watching my grandson, William, play for the Mojo team in the 4th and 5th grades is fun. We go to Mitch Park in Edmond, and there are nine lighted fields where games are played almost every weekday evening.

Will Wilson as a Mojo

William’s team practices hard and comes ready to play. They’re really good, and they win most of their games. The boys want to win the championship too.

As it gets colder, the football games continue. The parents bring blankets, hot drinks, and warm coats to keep themselves warm. The sound of the ref’s whistle and the cheers from the crowd make the park exciting. The boys on the field look determined and focused like they’re eager to show off their skills.

The championship game is coming up, and the Mojo is getting ready. The boys practice hard and work together to improve their teamwork. They want to win the championship game very badly.

Mojo win the championship!

The championship game is intense, and the Mojo are playing great. The other team is strong, but the Mojo is fearless. The boys score points as well as a two-point conversion (critical in this game) and make their coaches and parents proud.

When the game ends, the Mojo team wins the championship! Everyone is happy and excited. It’s freezing outside, but the boys don’t mind because they just won the championship game.

Ultimately, the fall nights and football season at Mitch Park are exciting and full of heart. The players, coaches, and parents will remember the games and the championship forever. As for me, I love fall nights and football, but it’s really hard for me to handle the cold!
