Oklahoma City Home Prices and Home Values
Zillow its’ quarterly home prices and home value reports for Oklahoma City today. Zillows’ home value index is compiled from the average of the ‘Zestimate’ values for Oklahoma City homes. Not surprisingly, they show that home values peaked in June of 2009 and have declined since then. In this case –6.6% year over year.
I sure wish Leonard Sullivan, our Oklahoma County Assessor, would subscribe to Zillow. For some reason he believes my home and most others continue to increase in value!
Since Zillow is using average Zestimate values, I thought I’d check Altos Research and see if Oklahoma City’s current market inventory supports Zillow. In fact, it matches pretty well which you can see in this chart…
Zillow’s data includes transactions through March 2010 and Altos Research is current. At least we see an uptick at May 1st.
