Yes on December 8th!
Oklahoma City voters go to the polls next Tuesday to vote on the MAPS 3 proposal and I urge you to vote and vote yes. We’ve brought the city a long ways over the last decade and a half and I hope we can finish the job and create a truly outstanding city. I’m especially concerned about getting a new convention center in order to attract bigger conventions where Oklahoma City is now not even on the considered list. Conventions bring a lot of dollars to the city by people who leave them here without using the City’s services.
And speaking of dollars, $10 of private investment has been made for every $1 of MAPS dollars. That’s big bucks! As far as the argument goes saying that no tax dollars will go to increase police and fire protection, a no vote guarantees no tax dollars going to increase those services. A 10 for 1 investment ratio allows for a lot of extra tax dollars to fund those services in my mind.
