Heather worked an offer this weekend for an Oklahoma City buyer on a ‘short-sale’ home. Both the seller and listing agent were a little squirrely through the negotiations and it culminated with the buyer backing out of the deal.
He sent us an email to terminate the offer, but I wanted to share a portion of it because I thought it particularly poignant.
Thank you for all your help on this! You were absolutely wonderful! This is the very best homebuyer’s market since the 1920’s. Borrowing money right now is cheap. I want to take advantage of the times. It may happen in a month or it may not happen for close to a year. The deal on the house we were bidding on this weekend didn’t have any of the characteristics I am looking for in a home purchase process. I want to sell my house first so that I know what I am working with for equity in hand. Whenever our house is sold, we are going to buy a home that we get for a real bargain. Something below asking price that gives us equity the minute we own it. We are not afraid of buying a house that has owners in financial trouble, but this one didn’t work. There are tons of these houses out there with the circumstances we desire.
